Pittsfield at New Jersey (Postponed - Rain)
The game scheduled between Pittsfield and New Jersey was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday with the first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Worcester 8, New York 5
After falling down by four runs early in the game, Worcester mounted a furious comeback, at one point tallying eight unanswered runs, to earn an 8-5 victory over New York. The Tornadoes fell behind when the Federals scored four runs in the top of the second to take a 4-0 lead. Worcester immediately responded with four runs in the bottom half of the frame to tie the score. Worcester added two runs in the third and two more in the fifth to break the game wide open. Tornadoes LF Alex A. Nunez led Worcester with three RBIs, and DH Alex Trezza hit a two-run homer in the game. Starting pitcher Kevin Cooper earned the win for Worcester with his 5.2 innings pitched. Cooper allowed four runs but only one was earned, and he struck out nine hitters. New York DH Derrick Pyles had a double and two RBIs in a losing effort for New York.
Brockton 11, Newark 2
The Brockton Rox capitalized on efficient hitting and a strong performance from starting pitcher Jake Loye to down Newark 11-2. Loye tossed seven innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits and striking out three batters to earn the win. Three Rox batters each had three RBIs in the game. Brockton 3B Mike Torres hit three doubles, scored two runs and had three RBIs. Rox LF Dan Barbero hit a three-run homer in the game, and RF Keith Brachold went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and three RBIs. Bears DH Paddy Matera went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the loss.
Rockland 6, Quebec 3
The Rockland Boulders scored six unanswered runs to erase a 3-0 deficit and beat Quebec 6-3. Third baseman Ryan Mollica led Rockland with two RBIs. Mollica went 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run. Rockland LF Norm Hutchins doubled twice and batted in a run, and C Scott Clement went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Boulders reliever Jon Shepard was credited with the win for his two shutout innings worked in relief, and Adrian Martin worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save. For Quebec, 2B Josh Colafemina went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI in the loss.
