Quebec 10, New Haven County 1 (Game 1)

2B Pat Scalabrini went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Capitales past the Cutters in game one of the doubleheader. Quebec would score six runs in the first inning and was never challenged from there. Quebec starting pitcher Keith Dunn was sensational in picking up his first win of the season. He went five innings allowing no runs on two hits with three strikeouts. New Haven County LF Derrick Gibson went 1-for-3 and drove in the only run for the Cutters in the losing effort.

New Haven County 10, Quebec 5 (Game 2)

HR: NHC-Derrick Gibson (4), Chas Terni (2), Jeremy Terni (1)

New Haven County came from behind twice to earn a split of the doubleheader, defeating Quebec 10-5. The Capitales scored three in the first, but the Cutters came back with two in the second and two more in the third to go ahead 4-3. Quebec took the lead back with a two-run fifth, but New Haven then responded with six unanswered runs to win. SS Chas Terni went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI, while his brother 3B Jeremy was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Capitales 2B Pat Scalabrini went 2-for-3, finishing the day 6-for-7.

Nashua 10, New Jersey 9 (Game 1)

HR: NJ-John Lindsey 2(2,3), Bill Peavey (5); NSH-James Lofton (1)

Nashua would score eight runs in the fourth inning to overcome a 6-2 deficit and hold on to beat the Jackals in the first game of the doubleheader. 3B/LF Andy Dillard and RF Jared Johnson each had two hits and a RBI to lead the Nashua attack. Jason Blanton picked up his first victory for the Pride in relief going two scoreless innings allowing only a hit. Seven of the nine batters in the New Jersey had two hits apiece with 1B Bill Peavey and DH John Lindsey each driving in three runs. Peavey would hit his league leading fifth home run of the season.

Nashua 3, New Jersey 0 (Game 2)

Nashua starter Raul Valdes was splendid, limiting New Jersey to two hits and no runs in six innings of work, as the Pride completed the doubleheader sweep with a 3-0 victory. Nashua tallied one run in the second on 1B Billy Becher's leadoff home run, and added two more in the sixth on DH Glenn Murray's two-run dinger. 3B Andy Dillard also went 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Pride.

Sussex 8, Brockton 1

CF James Cooper went 3-for-3 with two runs scored in helping the Skyhawks pick up their 11th win of the season and keep them atop the standings. 2B Marcos Agramonte and 1B Ryan Lehr aided in the Sussex attack with two hits apiece with Lehr driving in three runs. Jose Correa won his third game of the year going five innings giving up only two hits and collecting four strikeouts. The win puts Correa tied atop the league in wins with Ryan Bicondoa of North Shore. The lone bright spot for Brockton was LF Travis Gulick who was 1-for-4 and driving in their only run.

North Shore 3, Worcester 2

HR: NS-Jonathan DeVries (1); W-Zach Strong (1)

C Jonathan DeVries had a terrific day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI, including his first home run of the season, in leading the Spirit past the Tornadoes and completing the three game sweep. North Shore would get on the board first 1-0 in the fourth inning on an error by CF Lucas Taylor, which scored LF Garrett Weir. The Spirit made it 3-0 in the fifth inning on DeVries' two-run home run. Worcester narrowed the gap in the sixth inning to 3-2 on Zach Strong's first home run of the season, a two-run shot. However, that is all the Tornadoes would get and the Spirit held on for the victory. Joey Siak got the win, his first, going six innings giving up only two runs, the Strong home run, on six hits with four strikeouts.
