Brockton 2, Pittsfield 1
Brockton starting pitcher Mike Smith baffled the Pittsfield lineup for eight strong innings to lead the Rox to a 2-1 win over the Colonials at home. Smith scattered 10 hits, allowing one run while striking out six and walking just one to earn the win and run his record to 7-3 on the season. Brockton closer Hunter Davis took the ball in the ninth and held Pittsfield scoreless to earn his 14th save. Rox LF Mike Conroy was the star offensively, going 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.
Worcester 12, New Jersey 3
Worcester got a huge game from CF Danny Santiesteban to lead the offense to a rout of New Jeresey at home. Santiesteban was 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs, three runs scored and five RBI to lead all hitters. C Craig Maddox also homered for the Tornadoes and finished the game 1-for-4 with three RBI. Worcester starting pitcher John Kelly allowed two runs on four hits while striking out four in six innings to earn the win, running his record to 6-2 and bringing his ERA to 2.78 on the season.
Quebec 7, Sussex 2
Quebec jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings and that proved to be more than enough as they rolled from there to a 7-2 win over Sussex. The Capitales offense collected 13 hits and all but one starter in the lineup recorded at least one hit. Leading the way at the plate for Quebec was DH Jeremy Hunt, who was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI. Capitales CF Geofrey Tomlinson also had a good game offensively, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Capitales reliever James Kukucka picked up his second win after two scoreless innings in which he allowed one hit and struck out one.
