Pittsfield 4, Sussex 3

Pittsfield rallied from behind and clipped Sussex 4-3 when DH Rafael Cabreja hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. The Colonials had fallen behind 3-0, but got a couple back on a two-run home run by RF Daniel Carte in the sixth, tied the game in the eighth with a solo home run by CF Quentin Davis, and won in the ninth. The comeback pushed starter David Qualben to his first win of the season. Qualben pitched a complete game, allowing three runs on eight hits, and lowered his season ERA to 2.53. Sussex got six solid innings from starter Tim Stringer, but the bullpen couldn't hold the lead.

Quebec 5, New Jersey 1

Quebec RF Sebastien Boucher, the league's leading hitter, went 3-for-3 with a home run and paced the Capitales in a 5-1 win over New Jersey. Boucher got the scoring started in the first with an RBI single and added his fourth home run of the season in the third inning. Quebec starter Matthew Rusch improved to 3-0 by surrendering just one run and four hits in seven innings of work. Reliever Andrew Albers allowed just one hit over the final two innings.

Brockton 9, Worcester 3

Without registering a home run, Brockton tallied nine runs and handled Worcester 9-3. The Brockton offense jumped out with a four-run first inning, and pounded 12 hits in the game. CF Chris Valencia, RF Keith Brachold, DH Clyde Williams, and 2B Scott Wearne all registered multiple hits for the Rox. Starter Buster Lussier picked up a win in his first start of the season, holding Worcester to one run in five innings. The Tornadoes' offense came on the strength of three solo home runs, including one by LF Billy Cather, who finished the day 3-for-5.
