The Brockton Rox rallied from a 2-1 deficit with two runs in the fifth inning to take a 3-2 lead and would go on from there to defeat the Worcester Tornadoes in game one of a doubleheader. CF Chris Valencia led the Brockton offense going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two runs batted in. Rox starter Bryan Morse notched his first victory of the season going five innings allowing two earned runs on five hits. Brockton closer Jerry Dunn pitched a scoreless seventh inning and collected his fifth save of the season. That save by Dunn made him Brockton's all-time saves leader.

It was all Brockton in this one as the Rox completed the doubleheader sweep with a 10-0 win over the Worcester Tornadoes. Brockton starting pitcher Freddy Flores was terrific as he pitched a complete game allowing only a walk and two hits while fanning six Worcester batters. Flores is now 1-1 on the year with the victory. Rox RF Jud Thigpen and 3B Jon Gossard went a combined 4-for-6 at the plate with three runs scored and four RBI.
