In the first game of a doubleheader, Sussex shutout Nashua 5-0 behind an excellent performance from starter Matt Salvato. Salvato fanned six and allowed just three hits over seven innings and ran his record to 9-3. CF Ron Perodin led the Sussex offense with two hits in four trips to the plate and two RBI. LF Alex Frazier and C Yohanny Valera each went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Sussex 7, Nashua 3 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

In game two, Skyhawks 2B Chris Brown hit a grand slam to cap a seven-run fifth inning and give Sussex the sweep. Gary Galvez pitched five strong innings for the Skyhawks, striking out six and improving to 4-5. Isaac Burkett took the loss for Nashua. SS Sandy Almonte and 3B Aregenis Tavarez had two hits apiece for the Pride.

Worcester 7, Brockton 4 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

In the first game of a doubleheader Worcester used big performances from the heart of their batting order to down Brockton 7-4. 1B Chris Colabello and C Alex Trezza each had two hits and three RBI, with Trezza belting his 10th homer of the season. Number five hitter LF Francisco Caraballo crushed his 15th long ball of the year, a solo shot to center field that gave the Tornadoes a 1-0 lead. Tom Cochran allowed nine hits and three earned runs in five innings but picked up his 13th win of the season. Eddie Pena pitched the final two innings to earn his 7th save.

Brockton 2, Worcester 1 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

In game two, Brockton earned a split behind a solid start from Mike Smith. Smith surrendered just two hits in six innings and struck out eight to best Worcester starter Shaun McNamara who went five innings and struck out five.

Smith is 1-0 with Brockton, McNamara 2-10 for Worcester. DH Jason Colson and LF Jud Thigpen drove in a run each for the Rox.

Ottawa 11, Quebec 3

Ottawa scored eight runs in the fourth inning to break a 2-2 tie and cruise past Quebec 11-3. The Rapidz collected eight hits and sent 14 men to the plate in the inning. Quebec starter Kevin Beavers lasted only 3 2/3 innings and dropped to 5-4 while Ottawa's Fraser Robinson struck out seven in seven innings, earned the victory, and improved to 4-6. DH Jake Daubert had the biggest night at the plate finishing 3-for-6 with two runs scored and two RBI. Three other players had multi-hit games for the Rapidz.

New Jersey 8, Atlantic City 0

HR: NJ: Zach Smithlin (1)

CF Zach Smithlin's only hit of the night was the highlight of the game as New Jersey shutout Atlantic City 8-0. In the top of the sixth inning, Smithlin hit an inside the park home run that added three more runs to the Jackals total and gave them a 5-0 lead. Jackals starter Ted Serro went seven innings and fanned five Surf hitters to up his mark to 4-3 on the year. JC Huguet went six innings but allowed four earned runs on 11 hits and dropped to 8-6.

New Jersey 2B Marcus Sanders went 5-for-5 with a run scored and C Matt Lauderdale and RF Billy Kovatch each had three hits in the contest.
