Sussex starting pitcher Kyle Ruwe dominated for 8 2/3 innings before running out of steam, but the Skyhawks held on and came away with a narrow 6-5 win. Ruwe allowed five runs, four earned on 11 hits and struck out seven to improve to 3-0 on the year. Four of the five runs that were credited against Ruwe came during a four-run ninth inning for Brockton. Though the Rox put together a fierce rally, reliever Matt Petrusek was able to close the door, recording his third save of the season. Sussex DH Walter Young led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBI.

The Quebec Capitales pounded the ball en route to an easy win on the road against New Jersey. Quebec collected 17 hits as a team, led by SS Jean-Michel Rochon-Salvas who was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Each hitter in the Capitales lineup recorded a hit and five had multi-hit games, including 1B Eddie Lantigua who was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. New Jersey C Craig Maddox was 1-for-4 with a home run in the losing effort. Starting pitcher Eric Cyr picked up the win for Quebec. He allowed two runs on six hits and struck out eight in 5 2/3 innings.
