The Worcester Tornadoes scored three times in the third inning to get the scoring started, but it was a home run off the bat of Worcester LF Scott Grimes in the fifth that was the difference. Grimes' home run stretched the lead to 4-0, but the Skyhawks rallied with three runs in the sixth to close the game to within a single run. The bullpen duo of Ryan Lobban and John Birtwell took over from there, combining to toss 2 1/3 scoreless innings helping Worcester secure the win. Birtwell allowed just one hit and struck out two in 1 2/3 innings to record his first save.

W: John Kelly (2-0) L: Nicolas Suero (0-2) S: James Baker (2)
HR: BR-Jud Thigpen (3), Melvin Falu (3)
The Brockton Rox blew a close game open in the ninth inning, plating six runs and turning a 2-1 lead into an 8-1 blowout. The Rox tallied 13 hits in the contest, led by DH Jud Thigpen who was 4-for-5 with a home run and five RBI. Brockton starting pitcher John Kelly was lights out on the mound. He allowed just one walk and three hits while striking out 11 in 7 2/3 innings to improve to 2-0 on the season. Rox reliever James Baker finished things off and picked up his second save, despite allowing an unearned run in the ninth. Rox 2B Melvin Falu also had a great game at the plate, continuing his torrid pace to start the season. He came into the game batting .452 and proceeded to go 3-for-3 with a solo home run.

Ottawa 7, New Jersey 6
@ Little Falls, NJ. Time: 2:52 Attendance: 2,010
W: Karl Mejlholm (1-0) L: Isaac Pavlik (1-1) S: Angelo Burrows (1)
HR: OR-Jereme Milons (2)
The Ottawa Rapidz scored twice in the first inning to get the ball rolling, and had just enough left in the tank to prevent a comeback on the road. The Rapidz led 5-0 after five innings, but saw that lead shrink to 5-4 after eight. Ottawa was able to tack on two insurance runs in the ninth, and it's a good thing they did as New Jersey nearly tied things up with two runs of their own. But they fell just short, landing the Rapidz in the win column. Ottawa LF Jereme Milons led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. 1B Jabe Bergeron also had a good game, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI as well.

Quebec 8, Atlantic City 3
@ Atlantic City, NJ. Time: 3:04 Attendance: 2,471
W: James Mondesir (1-0) L: Walker Whitley (0-1) S: None
HR: None
The Quebec Capitales turned a close game into an easy win by scoring a total of five runs after the sixth inning and beating Atlantic City. Capitales starting pitcher Erick Nadon pitched well, allowing one run on three hits and striking out six in five innings of work, but did not factor in the decision. Instead, it was Quebec reliever James Mondesir that wound up with the win, his first of the season. The Capitales pounded out 14 hits as a team, led by C Patrick D'Aoust who was 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI. Every Quebec player that came to the plate reached base at least once and five different Capitales recorded multi-hit games in the win.
