C Alex Trezza and 1B Jeff Brooks lead the way in helping the Spirit hold off Worcester. Trezza on the day went 2-for-4 with a run scored, two RBI, and his 19th home run of the season while Brooks had a 2-for-4 outing with two runs scored. North Shore starting pitcher Sam Smith was very strong in winning his second game as a Spirit and seventh overall. Smith went eight innings allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits with seven strikeouts. Spirit closer Kevin Fitzgerald pitched a perfect ninth inning to collect his 26th of the season, still tops in the league. The loss by Worcester eliminates them from postseason contention.

The New Jersey Jackals got a solid outing from starting pitcher Joe Orloski to stay alive by the narrowest of margins in the race to clinch the last remaining playoff spot. Orloski held the Rox to two runs on seven hits and struck out three in seven innings of work to improve to 6-9 on the season. LF/1B John Lindsey was 3-for-5 with a run scored and RF Alex Fernandez turned in a 2-for-4 effort with two RBIs to lead the Jackals offensively. With the loss by Brockton, the Rox are locked into the No. 3 seed in the Can-Am League playoffs.

Quebec starting pitcher Kevin Beavers was efficient through six innings, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out five to improve to 4-4 on the season. He would get all of the run support he needed from his offense just three innings into the contest as the Capitales held a 5-0 lead after the frame. Quebec pounded out 15 total hits in the game, led by 1B Eddie Lantigua who finished 3-for-4, including a home run, with two runs scored and three runs batted in. The first five hitters in the Capitales lineup combined to go 10-23 with 10 runs scored and 11 RBIs in the game.
