Brockton edged the Sussex Skyhawks with a two-run sixth inning to take the lead for good. Starting pitcher Rolando Viera allowed just one earned run on eight hits through seven innings of work to improve to 8-5 on the season. Sussex starter Jose Correa struck out 10 Rox hitters in 6 2/3 innings, but allowed them the three runs to fall to 6-3. Brockton remained 1 1/2 games out of first place, behind Quebec and North Shore. 2B Mike Torres had a productive night at the plate to lead the Rox, going 1-for-3 with two runs batted in.

North Shore 5, New Haven County 1

The North Shore Spirit won, thanks to four runs in the ninth, to remain percentage points ahead of Quebec atop the Can-Am League. Meanwhile, New Haven County dropped three games off the pace with the loss. RF Andrew Wishy had a big game at the plate for the Spirit, turning in a 4-for-4 effort in which he scored two runs. Reliever Dennis Robinson picked up his fifth win after pitching just 1 2/3 innings. New Haven County starter Rolando Valles pitched well in a no decision, allowing one unearned run on four hits while striking out seven in seven innings.

Worcester 9, Nashua 6

Worcester topped Nashua thanks to a strong offensive effort in which the Tornadoes amassed 13 hits. SS Bob Tewksbary was 3-for-5, including a triple, with two runs scored and three runs batted in to lead the way. Nashua DH Larry Bethea hit his 13th home run of the year in a 1-for-3 game in which he scored twice and drove in three. The loss knocks Nashua three games behind North Shore and Quebec for first place in the Can-Am League.

Quebec 12, New Jersey 9

The Quebec Capitales scored seven times in the ninth inning to come from behind and beat the Jackals to remain percentage points behind North Shore for first place in the Can-Am League. Quebec pounded out 14 hits in the game, led by DH Mathieu Bergeron who was 3-for-4 with a run scored and two runs batted in. New Jersey RF Alex Fernandez hit his first home run of the season in a 3-for-5 effort. He also scored three runs and had three RBIs.
