CF Doug Vroman and 1B Chris Gaskin lead the way in helping the Cutters beat the Jackals and sweep the opening series of the second half. Vroman and Gaskin would go a combined 6-for-7 on the afternoon with four runs scored and three runs batted in. New Haven County starting pitcher Rolando Valles picked up his fourth win of the season going five shutout innings allowing no runs on only three hits and striking out two. New Haven County now moves to 3-0 in the second half and sits at top the standings with Nashua going into the all-star break.

Brockton brings the bats this afternoon as they score four runs in the second inning and two more runs in third inning en route to a 10-5 victory over North Shore. LF/SS Eugene Julien led the way for the Rox going 4-for-5 with a run scored and two runs batted in. DH Guye Senjem also chipped in two hits of his own, along with his sixth home run of the season. John Kelly won his fourth game of the season with the Rox, going six shutout innings allowing no runs on four hits with six strikeouts. For the Spirit, they were led by C Alex Trezza going 2-for-4 with a run scored.
