Rockland 9, Ottawa 5 (Game 1 - 7 Innings) - Box Score

Rockland scored a pair of runs in both the third and fourth innings to take a 4-0 lead and would go on from there to defeat Ottawa in game one of the doubleheader, 9-5.

The Boulders pounded out 14 hits in the contest with five players picking-up at least two of them. Rockland 2B Ryne Birk led the way going 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and four RBIs. Boulders 1B Collin Ferguson added a home run and three RBIs in a 2-for-3 outing while LF Grant Heyman collected a pair of triples and a run scored. Designated hitter Matt Oberste and SS Senoo Katsuya also helped the Boulders offense by picking-up three hits apiece.

Rockland starting pitcher JD Busfield tossed 6 1/3 innings and grabbed his sixth win of the year. Busfield gave up five earned runs on six hits and struck out five batters.

For the Champions, RF Jiandido Tromp had a 1-for-4 outing and launched a seventh inning grand slam.

Rockland 2, Ottawa 0 (Game 2 - 7 Innings) - Box Score

Rockland completed the doubleheader sweep of Ottawa as they downed the Champions, 2-0, in game two.

Boulders starting pitcher Landon Holifield and three relievers combined on a five-hit shutout. Holifield went the first four innings of the contest allowing only three hits while striking out three batters. The bullpen trio of Tim Ponto, Nick Kennedy and Robbie Gordon threw the final three innings and combined gave up a walk and a pair of hits to go with four punchouts. Holifield notched his first win of the season while Gordon earned his 10th save.

Offensively for Rockland, 2B Ryne Birk had a perfect 2-for-2 game with a double, a triple and an RBI. Boulders SS Senoo Katsuya and LF Grant Heyman each had a hit in three at-bats and scored a run. Rockland tallied single runs in the first and second innings.

The victory by Rockland was their sixth straight.

Quebec 12, Trois-Rivieres 3 - Box Score

It was all Quebec in this contest as they rolled out to a 7-1 lead after three innings and cruised to a 12-3 win over Trois-Rivieres.

The Capitales had four batters with multi-hit games including 3B Jesse Hodges who went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Quebec 1B/2B Josue Peley had two hits in five at-bats along with two RBIs while 1B/DH TJ White and CF Rian Kiniry each had three-hit nights with three runs batted in. In total, Quebec had 15 hits in the game.

Capitales starting pitcher Arik Sikula gave up three earned runs over six innings of work and picked-up the victory. The righty allowed a walk and seven hits to go along with four strikeouts. With the win, Sikula is now 6-4 on the season.

For the Aigles in the loss, SS Tucker Nathans had a 2-for-4 night with an RBI.

New Jersey at Sussex County - Postponed/Rain

The game between New Jersey and Sussex County was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Thursday, July 25th beginning at 5:05 PM. Both contests are scheduled for seven innings.
