Rockland 10, Ottawa 4 - Box Score
Rockland scored six runs in three of the final four innings to blow open a tight game and beat Ottawa by the score of 10-4. The Boulders had a 4-3 lead after five innings of play before plating three runs in the sixth, one in the seventh and two more in the eighth to put the contest away.
Catcher/RF Blake Grant-Parks led the way at the plate for Rockland going a perfect 4-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Boulders DH Matt Oberste had a pair of hits, including a home run, along with three runs scored and two RBIs while 2B Ryne Birk collected a double and plated two runs. In total, Rockland had eight hits in the game and nine of their 10 runs were unearned.
Boulders starting pitcher JD Busfield gave up three earned runs over seven innings of work and notched the win. The righty allowed a walk and five hits to go with three strikeouts. Busfield is now 5-1 on the year with the victory.
For Ottawa in the loss, DH Eduard Pinto had a 2-for-4 night with a run scored and an RBI.
Quebec 10, Trois-Rivieres 9 - Box Score
Third baseman Jesse Hodges singled home PR David Salgueiro with the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning as Quebec edged past Trois-Rivieres, 10-9.
The Capitales had 15 hits in the game with four batters collecting at least two. Hodges led the way going 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and three RBIs. Quebec 1B Stayler Hernandez scored two runs in a 3-for-5 night while CF Tyson Gillies added a home run in four at-bats along with a pair of runs and two RBIs.
Capitales pitcher Jonathan De Marte tossed 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and picked-up the victory. De Marte struck out one in the four batters that he faced.
Designated hitter Taylor Brennan went 1-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs in the loss for the Aigles.
Sussex County 3, New Jersey 0 (Game 2) [Suspended/Rain - Bottom 2]
Game two of the doubleheader between Sussex County and New Jersey was suspended due to rain with the Miners leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning. The game will be completed on Thursday, July 18th at 4:30 PM. The regularly scheduled game will follow and be scheduled for seven innings.
