Sussex County 6, Quebec 3 (Completion of Suspended Game from June 27th) - Box Score

Sussex County won their seventh consecutive contest as they defeated Quebec, 6-3, in the completion of the suspended game from June 27th. The Miners scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie and would go on from there to the big win.

There were 11 hits in the contest by Sussex County with SS Cito Culver leading the way going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Miners 2B Trey Hair had three hits in four at-bats along with a blast while LF Nick Zaharion scored twice in a 1-for-4 outing. In all, Sussex County had three home runs in the game.

Miners pitcher Tom Burns tossed 7 1/3 innings of relief to pick-up the victory. The righty gave up three earned runs on four hits and struck out seven batters. With the win, Burns is now 2-0 on the year.

For Quebec in the losing effort, 1B Stayler Hernandez had a 1-for-3 outing with a home run and two RBIs.

Quebec 7, Sussex County 6 (8 Innings - Regularly Scheduled Game) - Box Score

Pinch runner David Salgueiro scored the game winning run off an error in the bottom of the eighth inning as Quebec downed Sussex County, 7-6.

The Capitales started off the game by grabbing a 5-2 lead after two innings of action. The Miners would rally back in the fourth as they plated three runs and tied the contest up at 5-5. The two clubs traded runs in the sixth to make it a 6-6 contest before Salgueiro across home plate with the winning run in the eighth.

Quebec CF Tyson Gillies went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and two RBIs while DH Jhalan Jackson added a three-run blast of his own in a 1-for-3 outing.

Capitales pitcher Jack Charleston tossed a scoreless inning of relief to grab his first win of the season. Charleston struck out one in the four batters he faced.

First baseman Audy Ciriaco had a 3-for-4 night with a home run, three runs scored and two RBI in the loss.

New Jersey 7, Rockland 4 - Box Score

New Jersey rallied for four runs in the fourth inning to take a 5-3 lead and would go on from there to beat Rockland by the score of 7-4.

The Jackals had 12 hits in the contest with eight batters in their lineup picking-up at least one. New Jersey DH Chase Smartt had a 3-for-4 night with two doubles and two runs scored while RF Sthervin Matos had a pair of hits in four at-bats along with a run and two RBIs. Third baseman Gregg Veneklasen also helped the Jackals offense by collecting a hit and scoring two runs.

New Jersey starting pitcher Justin Brantley tossed 6 2/3 innings of work and notched the win. The righty allowed four earned runs on 10 hits and fanned five batters. Brantley is now 5-1 on the season.

Designated hitter Blake Grant-Parks went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the loss for the Boulders.

Trois-Rivieres 6, Ottawa 3 - Box Score

Trois-Rivieres scored six runs over the final four innings to erase an 3-0 deficit and beat Ottawa by the final of 6-3.

The Aigles were led offensively by 2B David Glaude who went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two walks. Trois-Rivieres LF Raphael Gladu collected a triple and three RBIs in a 2-for-4 night while 3B Juan Kelly added two hits in four at-bats and two runs scored. In total, the Aigles had eight hits in the contest.

Trois-Rivieres starter Kevin McNorton allowed three earned runs over seven innings pitched to pick-up the win. The University of Tampa product gave up a walk and six hits to go along with five strikeouts. McNorton is now 6-3 on the year and has won four out of his last five starts.

For Ottawa in the loss, CF Steve Brown had a 2-for-4 outing with a home run and two RBIs.
