Cuba 3, Rockland 0 - Box Score

Starting pitcher Lazaro Blanco and two relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as the Cuban National Team defeated Rockland by the score of 3-0.

Blanco went the first 6 1/3 innings of the contest allowing only two hits and three walks while striking out three. The bullpen duo of Yudiel Rodriguez and Pedro Jiminez tossed the final 2 2/3 innings and gave up a combined one walk and two hits to go along with two strikeouts. Blanco earned his second victory and Jiminez collected his first save.

Offensively for Cuba, 3B Raul Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored while C Frank Morejon added a hit in four at-bats and an RBI. Cuba tallied two runs in the second inning and the other one in the sixth.

For Rockland in defeat, C Adam Ehrlich went 2-for-3.

Ottawa 8, New Jersey 3 - Box Score

Ottawa jumped out to a 6-1 lead after three innings of play and would coast from there to an 8-3 victory over New Jersey.

The Champions collected 10 hits as a team with four batters having multi-hit games. Champions 1B Vincent Guglietti led the way at the plate going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. Ottawa SS Maikol Gonzalez plated a pair of runs in a 2-for-5 night while LF Brian Portelli had two hits in four at-bats along with a blast and two RBIs.

Champions starting pitcher Danny Garcia tossed seven solid innings and notched the victory. The lefty allowed one unearned run on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts. With the win, Garcia evened his mark at 2-2 on the season.

Left fielder Alfredo Marte had a 1-for-3 night with a run scored and an RBI in the loss for the Jackals.

Quebec 3, Sussex County 2 - Box Score

Quebec 1B Stayler Hernandez singled in 2B Brandon Fischer with the go-ahead run in the fifth inning as the Capitales edged past Sussex County, 3-2. With the victory, Quebec has now five consecutive games.

After two scoreless innings of action, the Miners jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third as 3B Jarred Mederos came home to score on a ground rule double by 2B Trey Hair. The Capitales immediately responded in the bottom of the inning as a Hernandez single and a groundout by SS Yordan Manduley brought home a pair of runs and made it 2-1 Quebec. The score would stay the same until the top of the fifth when Miners RF Mikey Reynolds launched a solo home run and tied the contest up at 2-2. However, this deadlock would not last for long as Hernandez knocked in another run in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-2 Capitales and that would go on to be the final score.

Hernandez went 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Fischer and 3B Michael Baca each had a hit in two at-bats and scored a run.

Quebec starting pitcher Scott Richmond allowed two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings of work and grabbed his third win of the season. Richmond allowed a walk and 10 hits to go along with seven strikeouts.

Shikoku Island 2, Trois-Rivieres 2 (Top 8/In Progress)
