Quebec 6, Ottawa 5 (Completion of Suspended Game from August 20)

Quebec scored two runs in the eighth inning to break a 4-4 tie and defeat Ottawa 6-5 in the completion of the suspended game from yesterday.

The Capitales scored all four of their other runs in the first, highlighted by a three-run shot from Zach Wilson. The Champions tallied a run in the third, a solo home run from Tyler Nordgren, and three more in the sixth. After the two-run eighth by Quebec to put the contest away, Ottawa plated a run in the ninth to round out the scoring.

Offensively for the Capitales, Brad Antchak went 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI while Kalian Sams contributed two hits in three at-bats and scored a pair of runs.

Quebec pitcher Lachlan Fontaine threw 2 2/3 innings and notched the win. Fontaine allowed an earned run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts. With the victory, Fontaine improved his mark to 2-0 on the season.

Ottawa 5, Quebec 3 (Regularly Scheduled Game)

Jordan Kurokawa notched his league leading 11th victory of the season as Ottawa defeated Quebec 5-3 in the regularly scheduled game.

Kurokawa was solid as he tossed six innings allowing only two earned runs on eight hits with a pair of walks and three strikeouts. With the win, the righty has now gone 8-1 over his last 10 starts.

Offensively for the Champions, Brian Portelli led the way going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Daniel Bick had two hits, including a blast, in four at-bats while Sebastien Boucher plated a run and went 2-for-4.

Leadoff hitter Yordan Manduley went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the loss for the Capitales.

Sussex County 2, Rockland 0 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

Sussex County starting pitcher Andrew Vinson tossed a three-hit complete game shutout as the Miners defeated Rockland 2-0 in game one of a doubleheader.

Vinson was terrific as he allowed no walks and struck out six in the 91-pitch performance. The righty notched his first victory after two straight no decisions and is 7-3 on the season.

Both of Sussex County's runs came in the first inning off a two-run blast from Audy Ciriaco. Ciriaco went 1-for-3 with two RBIs while Nick Zaharion, Daniel Mateo and Jarred Mederos each chipped in a hit.

For the Boulders in the loss, Conrad Gregor, Kevin Krause and Cody Regis all went 1-for-3.

Sussex County 4, Rockland 2 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Sussex County finished off the doubleheader sweep of Rockland and they beat the Boulders in game two by the score of 4-2. The Miners plated a pair of runs in the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie and pick-up the victory.

The Miners banged out 10 hits in the contest with four batters having multi-hit games. Jared McDonald went 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Christian Correa and Mikey Reynolds each contributed a pair of hits in three at-bats and drove in a run. Leadoff hitter Breland Almadova also stole his league leading 44th base of the season.

Sussex County pitcher Matt Kostalos tossed an inning of relief and picked-up his first victory with the team. Kostalos gave up an unearned run and a walk while fanning two batters.

For Rockland, Mike Montville drew three walks and scored a run.

New Jersey 7, Trois-Rivieres 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

New Jersey jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three innings of play and would cruise from there to a 7-1 victory over Trois-Rivieres in game one of a doubleheader.

The Jackals collected eight hits as team and was led by Connor Hofmann who went 1-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Jordan Hinshaw scored a pair of runs in a 2-for-3 game while Kevin Torres launched a grand slam in the third inning to give New Jersey the 7-0 lead. Taylor Oldham also added a perfect 3-for-3 outing at the plate.

New Jersey starting pitcher Yasmani Hernandez tossed six solid innings and earned his fifth win of the season. Hernandez allowed an earned run on five hits and struck out four batters.

New Jersey 3, Trois-Rivieres 1 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

New Jersey completed the doubleheader sweep of Trois-Rivieres as they beat the Aigles by the score of 3-1. The Jackals raced out to a 3-0 lead after three innings of play and would never look back en route to the game two win.

Connor Hofmann chipped in a two-run single in the second inning for New Jersey while Andy Mocahbee added a solo home run in the third. Seth Spivey and Jordan Hinshaw each collected a hit and scored a run.

Zach Arneson threw a scoreless inning of relief and picked-up his first victory for the Jackals. Arneson struck out one in the three batters that he faced.

David Glaude launched a solo home run for Trois-Rivieres.
