Sussex County 4, Ottawa 3 (Completion of Suspended Game from August 14/7 Innings)

Jayce Ray's two-run single in the fifth inning gave Sussex County a 4-2 lead and that proved to be the difference in the game as the Miners defeated Ottawa, 4-3.

After the Champions jumped out in front 1-0 in the first, Sussex County came back with a pair of runs in the second on RBI singles by Jarred Mederos and Jared McDonald. Ottawa would get a solo home run from Daniel Bick in the third before Ray collected his big hit in the fifth to give the Miners the lead for good at 4-2. The Champions added a run in the sixth to round out the scoring.

Ray went 1-for-3 with two RBIs while Breland Almadova scored a run in a 2-for-3 night.

Sussex County pitcher Kenny Koplove tossed four innings and notched his seventh win of the season. Koplove gave up two earned runs on four hits and struck out three batters.

Ottawa 7, Sussex County 3 (Regularly Scheduled Game/7 Innings)

Ottawa jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings of play and would roll from there to a 7-3 win over Sussex County.

The Champions were led offensively by Daniel Bick who went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Tyler Nordgren had a pair of hits in three at-bats along with three RBIs while Steve Brown scored a run and drove in one in a 1-for-2 night. Ottawa had seven total hits in the game.

Champions starting pitcher Jordan Kurokawa threw six solid innings in earning his league leading 10th win of the season. Kurokawa allowed an earned run on three hits and fanned two batters.

For the Miners in defeat, Mikey Reynolds had a 1-for-3 game with a home run.

Trois-Rivieres 2, Quebec 1 (11 Innings)

Pinch runner Shaun Ellis scored on a wild pitch in the 11th inning to give Trois-Rivieres a 2-1 walk-off win over Quebec.

The contest had been tied at 1-1 since the second inning. The Aigles scored their first run in the first on a Kevin Cornelius RBI single. The Capitales came back in the second and tallied their run on a single by Maxx Tissenbaum.

Cornelius went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI while leadoff hitter Alberth Martinez had a pair of hits in six at-bats.

Trois-Rivieres pitcher Angel Rincon tossed three scoreless innings of relief to nab the win. Rincon gave up only a walk in the 10 batters that he faced. With the victory, the righty is now 3-3 on the year.

For Quebec, James McOwen led the way going 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a run scored.

New Jersey 16, Rockland 9

New Jersey rolled out to an 10-1 lead through four innings of play and would cruise from there to a 16-9 victory over Rockland.

The Jackals pounded out 14 hits in the contest with five batters having multi-hit games. Daniel Canela went 3-for-6 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs while Kevin Torres hit two blasts, scored three runs and drove in three in a 3-for-4 night. Carlos Triunfel and Jordan Hinshaw also chipped in home runs for New Jersey.

Jackals starter Dylan Brammer threw 5 2/3 innings and collected the big victory. Brammer allowed six earned runs on nine hits and struck out seven. With the victory, the righty improved his mark to 8-8 on the year.

For the Boulders in the losing effort, Conrad Gregor had a 3-for-5 game with a home run and two RBI. Rockland hit three blasts in the game.
