Ottawa 10, Quebec 1

The Ottawa Champions scored seven runs in the second inning to jump ahead 7-0 and would roll from there to a 10-1 win over Quebec.

Ottawa banged out 13 hits with eight of the nine batters in the lineup collecting at least one. Champions 3B Jordan Caillouet went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI while LF Coco Johnson drove in three runs and scored one in a 2-for-4 night. Center fielder Chase Harris nailed a grand slam and RF Steve Brown launched a two-run shot in the seven-run second inning.

Champions starting pitcher Jordan Kurokawa tossed eight solid innings to earn the win. Kurokawa gave up an earned run on seven hits and struck out six batters. The righty is now 7-3 on the year.

For Quebec in the losing effort, leadoff hitter Nick Van Stratten went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles.

Trois-Rivieres 10, New Jersey 6

The Trois-Rivieres Aigles notched their fourth straight victory as they defeated New Jersey by the score of 10-6. Trois-Rivieres jumped out to a 7-2 lead after two innings of play and would never look back en route to their 33rd win of the season.

The Aigles pounded out 17 hits in the contest and was led by CF Alberth Martinez who went a perfect 5-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs. Trois-Rivieres LF Javier Herrera scored three runs in a 4-for-5 game while 2B David Glaude added a hit in four at-bats and plated a pair of runs. Third baseman Taylor Brennan also chipped in with his league leading 22nd home run of the season for the Aigles.

Trois-Rivieres starter Kyle Halbohn threw 6 2/3 innings and collected his first victory of the season. Halbohn gave up six earned runs on nine hits and fanned eight batters.

For New Jersey, RF Jordan Hinshaw went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.

Sussex County at Rockland (Postponed - Rain)

The game between Sussex County and Rockland was postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday, July 24 at 11:00 AM. Both contests are seven innings.
