Trois-Rivieres 8, Ottawa 6

Trois-Rivieres won their third consecutive game as they downed Ottawa by an 8-6 score. The score was tied at 6-6 in the eighth inning before an RBI single by CF Alberth Martinez and an error from Ottawa pitcher Scott Maine brought in two runs for the Aigles that gave them the lead for good.

Offensively for Trois-Rivieres, 1B Kevin Cornelius led the way at the plate going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Aigles 2B David Glaude and RF Michael Suchy each contributed a hit and scored a pair of runs while 3B Taylor Brennan launched his league leading 18th home run of the season.

Trois-Rivieres pitcher Philip Walby tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn his first win. Walby gave up a hit and struck out one in the seven batters that he faced.

For the Champions in the loss, RF Steve Brown went 2-for-5 with a home run.

Sussex County 4, New Jersey 3

Sussex County 2B Mikey Reynolds singled home RF Breland Almadova with the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Miners won in a walk-off, 4-3 over New Jersey.

This contest was a back and forth affair as each team traded the lead throughout the night. The Jackals jumped out on top 1-0 in the first as LF Connor Hofmann scored on an RBI single from 1B Andy Mocahbee. Sussex County tied the game up at 1-1 in the second on a single from C Luis Alen but that quickly changed as New Jersey regained the advantage in the third as Hofmann came home on a wild pitch. After the Miners plated a run in the third to tie the contest back up at 2-2, Sussex County took the lead at 3-2 in the fifth on an RBI double from 3B Martin Figueroa. The Jackals brought home a run in the sixth to make it 3-3 and the score would stay that way until the ninth when Almadova crossed home plate with the winning run for the Miners.

Reynolds went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and two RBIs while Figueroa had a pair of hits in four at-bats along with a run scored and an RBI.

Sussex County pitcher Mark McCoy threw 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick-up his first win of the year. McCoy allowed three hits and struck out two batters.

Quebec 8, Rockland 5

Trailing 4-1 through three innings of play, Quebec responded with seven runs over the next three and cruised to an 8-5 win over Rockland.

The Capitales banged out 13 hits in the contest with five batters having multi-hit games. Quebec RF Nick Van Stratten went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI while DH Edgar Lebron drove in a pair of runs and scored one in a 2-for-4 night. Second baseman Nick Gotta and 1B TJ White each chipped in two hits and a run scored for the Capitales.

Quebec relief pitcher Will Dennis notched his first victory of the season. Dennis threw 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk and striking out two batters in 25 pitches thrown.

For the Boulders in the losing effort, leadoff hitter JC Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a home run, two walks and two runs scored.
