Quebec 8, Hollywood 0

Quebec starting pitcher Karl Gelinas and reliever Andrew Elliott combined on a seven-hit shutout as the Capitales defeated Hollywood, 8-0. Gelinas went the first seven innings of the contest allowing only six hits while fanning nine batters in an 86-pitch performance. Elliott, on the other hand, finished off the game tossing two innings and giving up only a hit. Gelinas notched the victory and is now 6-2 on the year.

Offensively, Quebec pounded out 13 hits in the game. Capitales 3B TJ White went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI while CF Kalian Sams and 1B Lachlan Fontaine each had a pair of hits in four at-bats and scored a run.

For Hollywood in the loss, CF Micheal Hungate went 3-for-4.

Ottawa 7, Trois-Rivieres 2

Ottawa tallied three runs in the top of the ninth inning to break open a close game and defeat Trois-Rivieres by a 7-2 score. The Champions jumped out on top 3-0 in the second thanks to an RBI single by C Zak Colby and a two-run home run by 1B Vincent Guglietti. Ottawa added a run in the top of the seventh to make it 4-0 before the Aigles cut the gap to 4-2 in the bottom frame on a two-run blast by 2B David Glaude. However, that is as close as Trois-Rivieres would get as the Champions added the three runs in the ninth to win going away.

Guglietti went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs while 3B Jordan Caillouet plated two runs and drove in one in a 2-for-5 night. Ottawa had 14 total hits in the game.

For the Aigles, Glaude had a 1-for-3 night with two RBI.

Sussex County 7, Rockland 1

Sussex County rolled out to a 6-0 lead after two innings of play and would cruise from there to a 7-1 win over Rockland. The Miners had 11 hits in the contest with four batters collecting multi-hit games. Sussex County 2B Mikey Reynolds went 3-for-5 with two runs scored while 3B Martin Figueroa had two hits in three at-bats along with a run and two RBIs. Catcher Luis Alen also chipped in with two hits and two RBI for the Miners.

Starting pitcher David Rollins turned in a sensational performance to notch the victory for Sussex County. Rollins, who is now 5-1 on the year, gave up one unearned run on a hit with four walks and eight strikeouts. The southpaw had a no-hitter through 7 1/3 innings before Boulders 2B Aaron Wilson picked-up an RBI single.

New Jersey 11, Salina 6

New Jersey put on a solid offensive production in their 11-6 victory over Salina. The Jackals pounded out 16 hits in the contest, including four home runs, and scored at least a run in every inning. New Jersey DH David Harris led the way at the plate going a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Jackals leadoff hitter John Ruettiger plated two runs in a 2-for-5 night while SS Carlos Triunfel had a pair of hits, including a home run, along with two runs scored and two RBI.

Reliever Evan DeLuca tossed two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win for New Jersey. DeLuca struck out three batters in the six that he faced. The lefty is now 2-0 on the year.

For Salina in the losing effort, RF Tino Mention had a 2-for-3 game with a home run and four RBI.
