Trois-Rivieres 10, Hollywood 0 - Box Score

The Aigles scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back in a 10-0 series opening win over the Stars. RF Michael Suchy opened the scoring with an RBI single, and 2B Taylor Brennan busted the game open with a three-run homer later in the frame. The score held at 4-0 until the home half of the seventh inning. With one run already home in the inning, Suchy extended the lead to 6-0 with another RBI single. Brennan then stepped up and connected on his second three-run homer of the night. An RBI fielder's choice capped the scoring later on. DH Javier Herrera had a team-high three hits for Trois-Rivieres to go along with Brennan's six RBI.

On the mound, RHP Tyler Garkow scattered five hits over eight dominant innings, keeping Hollywood off the board and striking out nine.

Hollywood 3B Brian Luebcke had two hits in the loss, raising his average to .354.

New Jersey 4, Quebec 3 - Box Score

The Jackals scored three runs in the home half of the eighth inning to rally past the Capitales and win 4-3 in the clubs' series opener. Trailing 3-1 into the inning, DH Nolan Meadows led off the frame with a triple. PH Andy Mocahbee singled home Meadows to cut the lead to 3-2, and Mocahbee would score on an RBI single off the bat of 1B Dean Green. The next hitter, CF David Harris, notched an RBI single to put New Jersey ahead for good. Green finished the game with three hits, while Harris and Meadows recorded two apiece.

RHP Mat Latos struck out three over 1.1 relief innings to earn the win and shut the door on the Capitales.

Quebec 3B Brad Antchak was 3-for-4 in the loss.

Ottawa 6, Sussex County 4 - Box Score

A four-run sixth inning paved the way for the Champions to hold off the Miners by a 6-4 score at RCGT Park. 1B Vincent Guglietti smacked a go-ahead two-RBI double with no out in the frame to put Ottawa up 5-4, and a sacrifice fly from CF Chase Harris accounted for the sixth and final run.

C Zak Colby and SS Daniel Bick had two hits apiece for Ottawa, and Bick notched one of the Champions' three doubles. RHP Jake Hale worked six solid innings for the win, and LHP Scott Maine fanned two in the ninth to record the save.

Sussex County 3B Martin Figueroa was 3-for-4 with a triple in defeat.

Rockland 5, Salina 3 - Box Score

Despite three late Stockade runs, the Boulders won the series opener by a 5-3 score at Palisades Credit Union Ballpark. LF Kevin Krause hit an RBI triple in a two-run second for Rockland, and CF Mike Montville hit a solo home run in the fourth. 3B Conrad Gregor hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth to cap the scoring. SS JC Rodriguez and 2B Cody Regis had two hits each in the win.

RHP Justin Brantley struck out eight over six shutout innings to earn the win, and RHP Kyle Hansen recorded the final out for the save.

CF Dominic Zaher drove in two runs for Salina in defeat.
