Quebec 6, Trois-Rivieres 2
First baseman Brad Antchak's two-run single in the bottom of sixth inning gave Quebec the lead for good as the Capitales went on to defeat Trois-Rivieres by a 6-2 score. The 22-year-old was terrific tonight at the plate going 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBI. Along with Antchak, SS Jordan Serena went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while 3B Josh Vitters added a hit in three at-bats and plated a pair of runs. The Capitales had 10 total hits in the contest.
Quebec pitcher Mark Vasquez tossed two innings of relief and picked-up the victory. Vasquez allowed an earned run on a hit and struck out one.
For the Aigles, 3B Taylor Brennan hit his league leading eighth home run of the season.
Rockland 10, New Jersey 8
Rockland jumped out to a 6-1 lead after three innings of play and held off a late rally by New Jersey to win, 10-8. The Boulders had 10 hits in the contest with seven of nine batters collecting at least one. Boulders 3B Cody Regis went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI while SS JC Rodriguez had a pair of hits, including a blast, two RBI and two runs scored. Catcher Kevin Krause and 2B Jared McDonald also chipped in a pair of runs for Rockland.
Boulders starting pitcher Ryan Deemes gave up three earned runs over seven innings pitched to notch his first victory of the year. Deemes gave up 10 hits and a walk while fanning three batters.
For the Jackals in the losing effort, C Kevin Torres had a 4-for-5 night with two runs scored and four RBI. New Jersey had 16 hits in the game.
Sussex County 9, Ottawa 3
With the score deadlocked at 3-3 through four innings, Sussex County would plate six runs over the next three and win going away by a 9-3 final. The Miners collected 11 hits as a team with three batters having multi-hit games. Sussex County C Luis Alen went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBI while CF Jayce Ray and 3B Mikey Reynolds each collected two hits and scored a run. Second baseman Johnny Ruiz would also chip in a hit and a pair of runs for the Miners.
Sussex County starter Tyler Alexander tossed a complete game en route to his second victory of the year. Alexander allowed three earned runs on six hits with five walks and two strikeouts.
Second baseman Steve Nyisztor had a two-run home run for Ottawa in the loss.
