New Jersey 12, Worcester 1
The New Jersey Jackals scored six runs in the fifth inning to open up a tight game and would roll to victory by the score of 12-1 over the Worcester Tornadoes. New Jersey RF Carlos Guzman led the offense going 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored. Five other Jackal batters had two hits in the game including SS Matt Nandin who went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. New Jersey starting pitcher Craig Clark picked up the win as he went six innings allowing one earned run on nine hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. With the victory, Clark is now 4-4 on the season.
Rockland 4, Newark 2
The Rockland Boulders rallied from a 2-0 deficit with four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat the Newark Bears, 4-2. Rockland 1B Ryan Scoma and SS Jose Reyes each had two hits in the game with a run scored to lead the offense. Boulders reliever MacKenzie King picked up the victory as he tossed a scoreless eighth inning allowing only one hit. King is now 3-1 on the season. For Newark in defeat, C Dan Coury went 3-for-4 with a home run.
Gary SouthShore 3, Quebec 2
Gary SouthShore plated two runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally from a 2-1 deficit and beat the Quebec Capitales, 3-2. RailCats 3B Brian Kolb went 2-for-4 with a run scored while 1B Mike Rohde went 1-for-3 with two runs and a RBI. Rohde doubled home Kolb with the first run of the seventh inning to tie the score at 2-2. Rohde would later score in the inning on a RBI single by DH Matt Forgatch and give Gary SouthShore the 3-2 lead. RailCats starting pitcher Morgan Coombs was the winning pitcher allowing two earned runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings pitched.
