Rockland 7, Sussex County 6 (10 Innings) - Box Score
Second baseman Ryne Birk singled home LF Grant Heyman with the game winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as Rockland defeated Sussex County in a walk-off, 7-6.
The Boulders jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning as RF Mitch Piatnik came around to score on a single by SS John Brontsema. The Miners came back in the top of the fourth to take a 3-1 advantage thanks to a three-run home run by C Andy Paz. Rockland would add single runs in the fourth and fifth to tie it up at 3-3 before a 2B Trey Hair single in the top of the seventh gave the lead right back to Sussex County at 4-3. The Boulders would immediately respond in the bottom of half of the inning as 1B Collin Ferguson and Heyman hit back-to-back blasts to make it a 6-4 Boulders lead. The Miners tied the score back up in the eighth on another Paz home run and the game would eventually go into extra innings.
Heyman went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI while Ferguson added a pair of hits and two runs batted in.
Rockland reliever Robbie Gordon tossed two scoreless innings to pickup the victory. Gordon walked four and struck out two in the 11 batters he faced.
In the loss for Sussex County, Paz had a 2-for-5 day with two home runs and five RBIs.
