Can-Am League Game Recap
August 21, 2011 - Canadian American League (Can-Am) News Release
Worcester 6, Brockton 4
Three home runs in three straight innings helped Worcester get an early 5-0 lead, and the Tornadoes held on to beat Brockton 6-4 at Campanelli Stadium. First baseman Chris Colabello doubled to center field in the top of the first to score second baseman Abraham Nunez, and designated hitter Nick Salotti hit a two-run homer moments later to extend the Tornadoes' lead. Shortstop Tony Pantane and Colabello each had a solo home run in the second and third innings respectively, and Worcester went up 5-0. Brockton scored a pair of runs in the third and another in each of the fifth and seventh innings, but it wasn't enough to top Worcester. Colabello led Worcester with two runs, two hits and two RBI in three at-bats, while shortstop Dominic Ramos added three hits and three runs for Brockton. Ryan Bicondoa, now 5-1 on the season, earned the win by allowing 11 hits, four runs and striking out three in 6.1 innings pitched.
