Time: 2:54 ATT: 948 W: Danny Prata (5-2) L: Rolando Viera (2-2) S: Wes Faust (1) HR: None Danny Prata and Wes Faust combined on an eight-hit shutout as Quebec defeated Elmira 5-0. The Capitales tallied three runs in the fourth on 1B Todd Leathers' RBI double, SS Josh Fulton's RBI groundout and 2B Dany Scalabrini's RBI single; they then added one in the seventh and another in the ninth on RBI doubles from DH Carlos Sepulveda. Prata pitched five innings for his fifth victory of the season, giving up five hits and striking out two, while Faust got the save in his first appearance for Quebec. LF Toshi Suzuki and 3B Amuary Casana both went 2-for-4 for the Pioneers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- GRAYS 7, NORTH SHORE 3 @ Lynn, Mass. Time: 3:08 ATT: 2,115 W: Mike Henry (6-2) L: Jake Mullis (4-6) S: None HR: GRAYS - Mark Burke (8), Charles Peterson (5), NS - Rob Fischer (15) 1B Mark Burke and DH Charles Peterson drove in all seven runs as the Grays got past North Shore 7-3. Burke had an RBI single in the first and a two-run blast in the seventh, while Peterson also had a first-inning RBI single to add to a three-run homer in the sixth. Grays starter Mike Henry got his sixth victory of the season, giving up one earned run on ten hits in eight innings of work, striking out nine. The Spirit scored one in the first on CF Rob Fischer's home run and plated single unearned runs in the second and ninth. Fischer, 1B Josh Tranum and RF Brian Macchi had two hits apiece for North Shore. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- WORCESTER 6, NEW HAVEN COUNTY 2 @ Worcester, Mass. Time: 2:58 ATT: 3,305 W: Junior Guerrero (5-3) L: Rolando Valles (8-6) S: None HR: WOR - Josh Beauregard (9), Yohanny Valera (15), Zach Strong (6), Chris Colabello (7) Worcester used four home runs to dump New Haven County 6-2 and move to within two games of the Cutters in the South Division race. The Tornadoes started off with three in the third on LF Josh Beauregard's two-run home run and 1B Yohanny Valera's solo shot; New Haven responded with two in the fourth, but that was as close as it would get as Worcester came back with three unanswered runs. Chris Colabello blasted a leadoff shot to center in the fourth to double the Tornadoes' lead, and they added two insurance runs in the sixth on 3B Zach Strong's solo dinger and an RBI single from 2B Alex Nunez, who finished the game 3-for-4. CF Keto Anderson was the only Cutter to have more than one hit on the evening, going 2-for-4. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- BROCKTON 7, NEW JERSEY 6 @ Little Falls, N.J. Time: 3:58 ATT: 2,422 W: Eddie Aucoin (5-0) L: James Mondesir (1-1) S: None HR: NJ - Francisco Lebron (13) Brockton came back from a 7-0 deficit to defeat New Jersey 7-6 in 11 innings and add to their lead over North Shore in the North Division standings. CF Brad Rosenblat's two-out RBI double in the top of the eleventh proved to be the game's deciding run. LF Matt Cucurullo went 4-for-6 for the Rox, while C Mike Rucci was 4-for-5 with two doubles for the Jackals.
