Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release
The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency have teamed up again for the annual "Cameco Touchdown for Dreams" campaign in support of women's cancers. The goal of the program is to raise funds to grant dreams to Saskatchewan women who are living with a life threatening diagnosis of cancer.
This year, the CFL continued the "Pink Initiative" across the league to tackle women's cancer. Throughout games from October 12th to 20th all CFL teams will wear pink equipment in support of this initiative. Equipment includes pink chin straps, gloves, shoes, and wrist bands as well as other apparel. Select game-worn items will then be auctioned off on the CFL website in support of each of the teams' chosen charities.
On Saturday, October 20th the Saskatchewan Roughriders will go pink as they take on the Montreal Alouettes. Prior to kickoff, fans will have the opportunity to purchase a pink bandanna and pennant set for $10 with all proceeds going to "Cameco Touchdown for Dreams."
Fans can then write a message of hope on the pennant and bring it to the ticket office after the game in order to gain entrance to the field for a special pennant display to be constructed with the help of Rider players.
Together, we can help tackle women's cancer.
