Calhoun's single gives the Torrington Titans walk-off win over the Nashua Silver Knights, 9-8

A walk-off single from Langston Calhoun brought home the winning run for the Torrington Titans (1-0) in a 9-8 victory over the Nashua Silver Knights (0-1) in 11 innings at Fuessenich Park on Saturday.

Calhoun reached base five times. He doubled in the ninth inning and singled in the second, fifth, and eleventh innings.

The two teams combined for 17 runs and 26 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with nine pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

David Gerics recorded his first win of the year for the Torrington Titans. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Travis Landry (0-1) took the loss for the Nashua Silver Knights. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
