Calgary Roughnecks Defeated by Saskatchewan Rush 12-9

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks were defeated by the Saskatchewan Rush Saturday night at Sasktel Centre, falling 12-9 to the home side.

The second game in the back-to-back between the two prairie teams saw the game off to a fast start with Saskatchewan notching the first two goals before Thomas Hoggarth put Calgary on the board. The Rush added two to their tally whilst Haiden Dickson kept Calgary within two. Saskatchewan continued to pull ahead through the second quarter, adding five goals whilst Calgary saw three fall from Tanner Cook, Jesse King and Ethan Ticehurst to leave the score 9-5 heading into halftime.

The second half was a physical affair, with seven penalties taken between the two teams. Saskatchewan and Calgary both notched two in the third quarter, with Calgary's goals coming from Tyler Pace and Jesse King. Despite two goals from Shane Simpson and Haiden Dickson in the final frame, Calgary were ultimately unable to close the gap.

The Roughnecks have two regular season games remaining in their schedule and are sitting at 7 - 8. The team travels to Buffalo next week to take on the Bandits on Saturday, April 13th, before returning home to WestJet Field for their final game of the season on Saturday, April 20th against Panther City.
