Cal Express Defeat the Soles

TURLOCK,CA - The Turlock Cal Express (3-1) played against the Soles de Sonora (1-3 ) this Friday for their first encounter of the season at home. After several ties and back and forth goals, The Cal Express were able to pull away just enough to add a 6-5 win to their record.

Ivan Campos found an early opportunity to put the ball away within the first minute of the match after finding Sonora's goalkeeper out of his box.

This gave Turlock their first lead before Gustavo Rosales received a pass off the wall from Enrique Canez leveling things 1-1 to finish off the opening quarter.

The following 15 minutes of the first half were similar with one goal scored from each team ending the half tied 2-2.

Manuel Rojo from The Cal Express scored his first goal at 6:13 while Manuel Aragon followed in a few minutes later after Turlock subbed at the wrong time giving Soles a 2v1 opportunity.

As the second half rolled in, Manuel Aragon returned for more building off a pass from the back, crossed the half field and blasted one past Edgar Martinez not giving him a chance to react.

Soles lead short lived as Rojo answered back with his second of the night. Joaquin Raya and Ivan Campos contributed a goal each before Rojo scored his third.

With time running out Sonora added two more goals but Turlock remained up top until the final 3 minutes when Soles swapped their keeper with a 6th attacker.

Enriquez Canez found the back of the net in the final minutes cutting down the goal difference to 1 but Turlock was able to hold on to their advantage and take the Win.

The Cal Express will return back at home next Friday to host the San Diego Sockers. Tickets will be on sale all week long at Turlock Indoor.
