Bye, bye Carson, hello Maywood

November 3, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maywood Buzz News Release

Maywood, CA - Buzz General Manager Burrel Lee III was excited when he made the announcement that his Buzz squad will be making the move from Carson to Maywood.

"We was not going to fold, we didn't loose our lease, this move was just that....A move" stated Lee. "After speaking to Maywood City Manager Ed Ahrens and the offer that was put in front of us, it was a no brainer" added Lee.

The City of Maywood and The Buzz will work together to bring an ABA Championship to its great city. We will also team up and do camps, clinics, partys, different events other then just basketball.

"This was like a blessing from the skies. And with all the ABA is doing with moving forward, the names behind the ABA, I just felt that the Buzz really needed a city to call home and after doing my homework Carson was not it" says Lee.

With the move the Buzz home schedule will stay intact. We only had to move one game, and our Home Opener will be Friday, November 24th, 2006 at 7:05pm vs. The Hollywood Fame.

The Maywood Buzz will play all 18 home games at The M.A.C. (Maywood Activity Center) which seats a little over 900. The M.A.C. is located at 4801 E. 58th Street, Maywood, CA 90270. This will also serve as the Buzz home office.

We will also be releasing our final roster of 15 today. These 15 guys are some of the best the ABA will have to offer. The Maywood Buzz will have 2 ABA AllStars from last season & 2 former NBA players, just to name a few. We will also be releasing our schedule.

On Monday morning the Maywood Buzz will announce it's Press Conference. It will be held in the City of Maywood on Wednesday, November 8th, 2006 with site and time TBA.
