Lorain County Ironmen News Release
(Butler, PA)- The Lorain County Ironmen came into Butler on Wednesday night as the hottest team in the Prospect League winning 7 of their last 10 and 4 in a row. However, they ran into a hot pitcher and the win streak was snapped in a 7-1 loss to the Blue Sox.
David Kaye started for Butler and pitched 5.1 scoreless innings before allowing a single to Sam Alvis and a double to Jeff Cola with one out in the 6th. Julian Diaz replaced Kaye and promptly shutdown the Ironmen threat with a strikeout and a pop out. Diaz went 2.1 innings allowing 1 run and striking out 2.
Jason Pascuzzi pitched for Lorain County and he as well went 5.1 innings. He allowed 5 hits and 5 runs, 4 earned. Pascuzzi got into trouble in the 6th inning when the Blue Sox scored 4 runs. The loss drops Jason's record to 1-1 on the season.
The Ironmen offense did bang out 10 hits, their average on the season, unfortunately they only managed the 1 run. Michael Burke, Sam Alvis and Jeff Cola all had multiple hits for the Ironmen.
The Ironmen will look to bounce back Thursday night when they welcome the Richmond River Rats to the Pipe Yard. First pitch will be at 7:05. The River Rats will be in town for games Thursday and Friday.
