Boise Burn News Release
BOISE, Idaho ¾ With two days left until the end of training camp, Boise Burn Head Coach Brent Winter continues to make moves to his roster. Today the Burn announced it has added a pair of Division 1A offensive linemen to the 2009 roster.
Oregon State product Kyle DeVan (6-2, 295-lbs.) comes to Boise following a nine-week stint on this season's New York Jets practice squad. The Vacaville, CA native started 37 consecutive games for the Beavers and was a perfect 4-0 in bowl games while in Corvallis. DeVan was also a three-time All Pac 10 player (05-07) and was named to the All Academic team his senior year.
Former Idaho Vandal Marcis Fennell (6-2, 320-lbs.) has also been assigned to the Burn from the arenafootball2 league office. Fennell was a four-year starter for the Vandals from 2004-2007, and as the first member of his family to graduate from college, he earned All WAC Academic honors in his senior year.
Today's announcement comes one day after losing OL Leo Sullivan to an MCL injury and OL Kenny Shane after he left training camp and was placed on team suspension.
The team has its final practice on Friday, from 9:00am - Noon, and a scrimmage on Saturday from 1-3pm, both at Boise State University's Caven-Williams Sports Complex. Both events are open to the media. Coach Winter will make his final cuts and set his opening day roster following the scrimmage Saturday.
The Burn kicks off its third season on Mar. 27 @ Tri-Cities, with the home opener slated for Apr. 18 versus the Spokane Shock. Season tickets are available by calling (208) 383-0080. For more information and to get a full schedule, visit www.boiseburn.com.
