Bulls Visit Topeka in Game 3 Tonight
April 26, 2012 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Amarillo Bulls News Release
TOPEKA, KS - The Amarillo Bulls look punch a ticket to their second straight Robertson Cup National Championship Tournament tonight at 7 pm at the Kansas Expo Center, Landon Arena. It's game 3 of the Best-Of-Five South Division final between the visiting Bulls and the Topeka RoadRunners. Amarillo has a 2-0 series lead following back-to-back wins at home last weekend.
The visiting confines of Landon Arena have suited the Bulls well with six wins in their last seven games on the ice surface.
Special teams have played a big part of the post season for the Bulls with seven power play goals including four in the first two games of this series alone. The Bulls penalty killing has also been solid, surrendering just one goal in their last 24 times shorthanded.
Luke Jenkins continues to lead all Bulls' point getters in the playoffs with seven points. Jenkins and Brooks Behling each have four goals, while several players have at least four points in total. A balanced scoring attack is something the Bulls have used to their advantage not only in the regular season but in the playoffs. All but four players have at least one point.
There will be a watch party at Cattle Call located on I-40 and Western for Bulls fans to watch the game on the big screen. Fans are encouraged to arrive a bit early to ensure they get a good seat.
Game 3 will air live on ESPN1440 and www.amarillobulls.com, beginning with Prelude To The Playoffs Presented By Wayland Baptist University at 6:45 pm. Denis J. Puska has the exciting call at 7 pm. The game is also available on Pay-Per-View courtesy of Fast Hockey and a high speed internet connection is required in order to view the game.
If a fourth game in the series is necessary it will be played tomorrow (Friday) night at 7 pm at Kansas Expo Landon Arena. Should a fifth and decided game of the series be needed it would be played on Monday, Apr. 30 at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.
