Bulls Start Road Swing With Three in Corpus Christi

November 9, 2018 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Amarillo Bulls News Release

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Let the road trip begin...

The Amarillo Bulls begin their longest stretch away from home in terms of days and games (34 days, 7 games) tomorrow (Friday) night when they face the Corpus Christi IceRays at American Bank Center at 7:05 pm. It's the first of three in a row between the two teams that will continue on Saturday at 7:05 pm and then again on Sunday at 3:05 pm.

The Bulls have won three in a row and have a four point lead on the second place Topeka Pilots for first place in the South Division. The IceRays had last weekend off and were most recently in action two weeks ago when they swept the Kenai River Brown Bears.

One of the areas where the Bulls have excelled recently has been in penalty killing, where they have allowed just one power play goal in their last 21 times shorthanded. Defensively the Bulls continue to do well, leading the North American Hockey League in shots against and fourth in goals against.

The IceRays got off to a slow start to the season but have improved in recent weeks under first year Head Coach Ryan Cruthers. Corpus Christi is unbeaten in its last three games and 5-4-1-0 in its last 10 . Jake Stella and Kyle Moore have been their best players lately riding goal and assist streaks, respectively.

Fans can tune into the action of tomorrow's game live on 107.1 Nash Icon, www.amarillobulls.com/listen and on PPV with Hockey TV, beginning with the Fit Omni Warm Up Show at 6:40 pm. Denis J. Puska has the hard hitting action to follow.

Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday, Dec. 8 when the Amarillo Bulls host the Lone Star Brahmas at 7 pm. Friday's game features the arrival of The Grinch as well as the return of the Family-4-Pack and the Bring-A-Bud Pack. Saturday, is the annual Toys For Tots Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used Teddy Bear or Stuffed Animal to the game and when the Bulls score their first goal then throw the toys onto the ice.

Tickets are available at the Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk, Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket locations including United Supermarkets or online at www.panhandletickets.com and www.amarillobulls.com/tickets.
