Amarillo Bulls News Release

AMARILLO, TX - Two rivals on the ice in the North American Hockey League's South Division will join forces and work together off the ice this summer to hold what is believed to be the first ever combined prospects camp.

The Amarillo Bulls and the Corpus Christi IceRays, both based out of the state of Texas, announced this very unique and ground-breaking partnership today. Both organizations are extremely excited to be together for this prospects camp and hope other teams in both the NAHL, and in various other junior leagues will do similar ventures in the future.

"I think it is great that two organizations like us and Corpus who battle all year can get together," said head coach Dennis Williams. "Both programs are top notch and are run from a professional stand point. They have the same intensions and desire to move players on to the collegiate level."

Williams said that those players who come to the Amarillo-Corpus Christi combine will be seen by two first-class organizations.

"I know coach (Brent) Hughes shares the same passion as I do in working with kids," said Williams. "I think it's also great that these players can step up and not only showcase their skills in front of one coach, but two of them.

"I look forward to working with Coach Hughes and Pat Dunn down there and running a great week of camp with them."

Corpus Christi IceRays Head Coach Brent Hughes echoed the same thoughts and is looking forward to be partnering with Amarillo.

"We're looking forward to the combine in Pittsburgh this summer," said IceRays Head Coach Brent Hughes. "It will be a good chance for us to evaluate new players that would be a good fit for the IceRays. We're happy to partner with Amarillo for the event and we hope to find some good talent in that area."

The combined prospects camp will take place from June 8 to 12 at Ice Castle located in Pittsburgh, PA. Registration fee is $325 and it includes two extra games and opportunities for evaluation.

Interested players are invited to visit www.amarillobulls.com and click on the combined camp page located on the team section. All areas of the registration form must be filled out.
