Amarillo Bulls News Release
ODESSA, TX - Logan Jenuwine continues to be one of the offensive forces that drives the Amarillo Bulls this season. His goal scoring prowess continued on Saturday night at Ector County Coliseum and it couldn't have come at a better time.
Jenuwine fired the game winning goal with 21 seconds left in regulation time to lift the Bulls past the Odessa Jackalopes 3-2 and increase the first place lead to six points. Brett Abdelnour and Nick Trela netted the other Bulls goals, while Justin Evenson notched the win in goal.
Nick Trela gave the Bulls an early 1-0 lead when he fired a one-timer past goaltender Alex Camarre. The play was set up by the pass of Cooper Fensterstock and the hard work of Brendan West. The Bulls penalty killing has been very strong as of late but ran into trouble late in the stanza when James Crossman scored on a screen shot past goaltender Evenson. Odessa outshot Amarillo 13-11 in the first period.
The Jackalopes took the lead early in the second period capitalizing on an odd-man rush as Kyle Herbster tipped home a pass in front of the net.
The Bulls power play went to work later and tied the game as Brett Abdelnour followed up a rebound shot from Brenden Datema and Nick Anderson. Amarillo outshot the Jacks 13-12 in the stanza.
It was a wild third period with both teams pushing hard. The Bulls had the better of the quality scoring chances and 14 shots on goal. At the other end, Justin Evenson came up with some timely saves to keep the game event. In the dying seconds, Ryan Lautenbach rushed the puck up the ice and Gabriel Seger found Logan Jenuwine open in front of the net who's quick shot beat the goaltender cleanly.
The Amarillo Bulls outshot the Odessa Jackalopes 38-29. Each team had a power play goal.
