Knoxville Smokies News Release

SEVIERVILLE, TN - The Tennessee Smokies (44-59) fell to the Chattanooga Lookouts (55-51), 2-0, Friday night at Smokies Stadium. The Smokies' offense faltered for the second straight game as Chattanooga took a 3-1 series lead.

Chattanooga opened the scoring in the second inning thanks to a Quincy McAfee double and a Leonardo Rivas RBI single.

The Lookouts would add another run in the fifth inning via a Matt Lloyd solo home run. Still, it was a strong bounce back outing for Dakota Chalmers after the RHP struggled his last two appearances.

Chalmers struck out four batters and allowed four hits and two runs in five innings pitched.

Tennessee's offense struggled for the second straight day, failing to score while recording just three hits. Bradlee Beesley provided the Smokies' biggest hit of the game, tripling in the seventh inning.

The Smokies' bullpen was excellent in relief of Chalmers. Eury Ramos, Bryan Hudson and Samuel Reyes combined for four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit.

Hudson allowed just one baserunner in 1.1 innings, striking out a pair. Reyes worked a perfect ninth inning while striking out one.

The Smokies and Lookouts continue their six game series Saturday night. First pitch between RHP Anderson Espinoza (0-0, 1.80) and RHP Dylan Baker (0-0, 5.50) is scheduled for 7 PM. Fans can hear all Smokies games by going to https://www.milb.com/tennessee/fans/audio-listen-live.

There will be a post game fireworks show presented by Pepsi and Coors Light Saturday night. Tickets are available and can be purchased online, over the phone, or by visiting the box office.
