
Bullfrogs Give up Lead Late, Fall to Huskies 6-4

Green Bay, Wis. - For the second night in a row, the Bullfrogs found themselves in a tight ballgame. Unfortunately, the game did not go the way of the Bullfrogs as they fell to the Duluth Huskies 6-4. The Bullfrogs split the home series with the Huskies and fall to 7-7 on the second half.
Luke Lind (North Dakota State) got the start for the Bullfrogs. Lind ran into trouble in the first inning as he gave up a two run home run to Jake Pries (UCLA), these would be the only runs that Lind allowed. He finished his start going five straight scoreless innings, striking out seven, and allowing only four hits. When he left the ballgame, Lind was in line for the win.
Chasing two runs, the Bullfrogs were able to tie the ballgame in the bottom of the second. Hill Alexander (Midland) led off the inning with a double. He would score on an RBI single by Laren Eustace (Indiana). Eustace would come around and score off an RBI groundout by Colton Onstott (Dodge City CC).
The game would remain tied until the sixth inning. The Bullfrogs jumped out to a two run lead after another RBI groundout by Onstott and a two out RBI single by Brad Hamilton (Kent State). The Huskies cut the deficit in half off a solo home run by Reid Long (Troy) in the top of the seventh.
The eighth inning proved to be the game changer as the Huskies scored three runs off of Bullfrog reliever Logan Elliot (Mississippi State). Dillon Paulson (USC) tied the game with a solo home run to right field. The next five Huskies reached base, and they plated two runs to take a two run lead, a lead they would hold onto.
Marcus Shoemaker (Lenoir Rhyne) led the Bullfrogs offensively as the outfielder had four hits in tonight ' s ballgame. Eustace recorded two hits and Onstott drove in two runs. Dominick Golubiewski (Madison College) threw an inning and two-thirds of scoreless baseball in relief.
The Bullfrogs travel to Rockford to take on the South Division leading Rivets. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
