HAMILTON, ONTARIO. Coming off a big win in Kingston Friday night, the Hamilton Bulldogs were looking to avoid a let-down as they took on the last place Sudbury Wolves at FirstOntario Centre on Saturday night.

A good start to the 1st period for the Bulldogs as Matthew Strome (34) banged home a rebound at 8:48 after some great work down low by Mackenzie Entwistle. Hamilton went up 2-0 at 12:45 as Isaac Nurse (15) got a quick shot away as the Black and Gold took a 2-0 lead. The Wolves turned to rookie Blake Murray to get back in the game as he scored twice in a 79-second span to tie the game 2-2.

The visitors from up north got their first lead of the game early in the 2nd period, but the Bulldogs responded with back to back goals from Brandon Saigeon (33) and Mackenzie Entwistle (9) to take a 4-3 lead into the 3rd period.

Hamilton allowed Sudbury just three shots on net during the 3rd period and the Bulldogs got the insurance they needed as Nicholas Caamano (24) scored into the empty-net at 19:56 to make the final score 5-3.

3 STARS:

1) Mackenzie Entwistle (HAM) 2) Blake Murray (SBY) 3) Matthew Strome (HAM)

Hamilton plays host to the North Bay Battalion Sunday at 2 pm at FirstOntario Centre.
