Brantford Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONTARIO-Not the start to the final road trip of the regular season the Hamilton Bulldogs were looking for as they lost 4-0 Thursday night to the Peterborough Petes.

The Bulldogs got a break early as a Peterborough goal would be disallowed after a lengthy video review ruled the play was off-side. However, the Petes would strike again just over two minutes later to take a 1-0 lead.

The Bulldogs came out strong in the 2nd period, but it would be the Peterborough power-play that would strike at 8:45 to make it 2-0. Less than a minute later it was 3-0 Petes as any momentum Hamilton had was gone despite out-shooting the opposition 21-16.

Peterborough would add another power-play goal in the 3rd, making the final score 4-0.

The Petes goal scorers were Nikita Korostelev (29), Logan DeNoble (34), Matthew Timms (11) and Jonathan Ang (27).

Peterborough goalie Dylan Wells stopped all thirty-seven shots he faced for his first shut-out of season as the two points clinched first place for the Petes in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Bulldogs failed to clinch 4th place in the Eastern Conference, but still lead Kingston by three points.

The 3-Stars were a clean sweep for the Petes. Dylan Wells posted the shutout which earned him 1st star honours. Nikita Korostelev, the 2nd star, scored the Petes first goal of the game which stood up as the game winner. The 3rd star was Waterdown native Matthew Timms who had a goal and an assist.

Hamilton's season record drops to 32-26-4-4 with their road record now 16-14-1-1.

The Bulldogs continue their road trip with a playoff preview in Kingston Friday night at 7 pm.

Dates for Hamilton's first round playoff series with the Frontenacs have not yet been announced, but keep checking www.hamiltonbulldogs.com for the latest.
