The Hamilton Bulldogs ran out of steam in the 3rd period in Ottawa Friday night as the 1st place 67's cruised to an 8-1 win.

Ottawa got the jump on the Bulldogs with a goal at the 2:19 mark of the 1st period, but Logan Morrison (10) responded less than six minutes later with a wrist shot to the top corner to tie things up at 1-1 after one.

The turning point in the game came mid-way through the 2nd period as the 67's scored two short-handed goals on the same Bulldogs powerplay to make it 3-1 after 40 minutes.

It was all Ottawa in the 3rd period as they scored five unanswered goals, one on the power-play along with their third short-handed goal of the night, to make the final 8-1.

Ottawa out-shot Hamilton 29-21.

Both Matthew Strome and Arthur Kaliyev went pointless ending Strome's 11-game point streak and Kaliyev's 8-game point streak.

Ottawa goal scorers were Kyle Maksimovich (32, 33, 34), Sasha Chmelevski (23, 24), Noel Hoefenmayer (14), Sam Bitten (11), and Marco Rossi (25).
