Buich Signs with Grand Rapids

January 20, 2004 - arenafootball2 (af2) - Wichita Stealth News Release

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth announced today that quarterback Anthony Buich (6-0, 205, Eastern Illinois) has signed with the Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League (AFL). Anthony is the sixth former Stealth player to be signed by the Rampage during this off-season. The Rampage began training camp yesterday in Grand Rapids, Michigan with 36 players on the roster.

Buich has played in arenafootball2 the past three seasons for the Iowa Barnstormers (2001), Tulsa Talons (2002), and the Stealth (2003) as the starting quarterback for all three teams. Last season, Buich was 271-of-496 for 3,454 yards and 64 touchdowns. Buich was named all-af2 second team following the 2002 season in Tulsa. He went on to spend part of the 2003 AFL season with the Tampa Bay Storm as their emergency quarterback before being released prior to the start of the af2 season.

Buich led the Stealth to a franchise record win total in 2003 with eight victories, and put himself in the Stealth record books in several categories. He now ranks second in passing yards in a season, first in touchdown passes, second in pass attempts, and second in completions. He also led the Stealth to their second consecutive af2 playoff berth.

Buich becomes the seventh Stealth player to move up to the AFL so far this off-season. He joins Chris Enneking, Dustin Fish, Brian Goolsby, Cliff Holloman, Brian Livingston, and Will Sullivan as former Stealth players who have signed AFL contracts this off-season.

STEALTH NOTES: Season tickets are available by calling the Stealth ticket sales representatives at 316.755.3307. Fans can secure the same great seats for all eight home games during the 2004 season for as little as $80. The Stealth will kickoff their fourth season in late March 2004 at the Kansas Coliseum.
