Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are finally coming home! After nearly three weeks on the road, the Mudbugs return to CenturyTel Center this weekend to host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on Saturday night and the Laredo Bucks on Monday. Don't forget fans that the game originally scheduled for Friday night against Laredo has been moved to Monday night at 7:05 pm.
Saturday night the Mudbugs will be looking for some payback against Rio Grande Valley when in their first home game since January 6. The season series between the teams is even at one game apiece entering Saturday, but the Killer Bees handed the Mudbugs a hard-to-swallow 7-1 loss the last time they met on January 10. The âBugs will be looking to make up for that game in front of their home fans when the puck drops at 7:05 pm Saturday, presented by the Shreveport Times.
We've also got a number of great events planned for Saturday, starting with our 98 Rocks "Back in Black" night. The game against the Killer Bees is Bossier-Shreveport's first home game in the second half of the CHL season, meaning they will wear their black jerseys at home for the remainder of the season. Help us celebrate by wearing all black to the game and "black out" Rio Grande Valley for "Back in Black" night, presented by the Home of Rock and Roll, 98 Rocks.
Also on Saturday night, Bossier Little League will pay a visit to the Mudbugs game with a table on the concourse. Volunteers will be on hand to help kids get signed up for the spring 2009 seasons of baseball, softball, and t-ball, which begin in early April. As an added bonus, the first 1,000 kids who register to play this spring will receive a free Mudbugs/Bossier Little League commemorative puck!
Finally, DIGIKIDS will be set up on the concourse as well to allow parents to purchase a digital I.D. card system to help parents and authorities keep children safe in the event of an abduction. DIGIKIDS has developed solutions that include new NDB2⢠Technology; a fail safe method to ensure that no database of any child is ever created, an email program that routes emergency email through a dedicated network so that it is not mistaken for SPAM and rejected, and a high-tech portable studio that allows us to create, manufacture and deliver the I.D. Card and business card size CD onsite in about two minutes from start to finish! DIGIKIDS has built a reputation for safe, confidential and highly effective child safety ID, and is offering free I.D. cards for the first 30 kids to their booth on Saturday night, courtesy of Baskin-Robbins.
Two days later, the Mudbugs will host the Laredo Bucks at 7:05 pm in a featured Monday night CHL match-up. The game, which was moved from its originally scheduled date of Friday, January 23, will pit the âBugs against their longtime Southern Conference rivals from Laredo. Season ticket holders are reminded to use their tickets printed for Friday, January 23, home game #16 in order to come to Monday night's game against the Bucks.
Monday's game has also been added as a season ticket holder redemption night. Season ticket holders are invited to bring in unused tickets from previous games this year to be exchanged for seats to see the âBugs face Laredo in this big home game.
The Mudbugs are 2-1 against the Bucks so far this year going into the final regular season meeting between the teams, a game which is also Laredo's only visit to Bossier City this year. Both teams are in tough divisional battles right now, with Laredo trying to catch Texas in the Southeast Division and Bossier-Shreveport jockeying for position with Mississippi and Oklahoma City in the Northeast.
Monday is also the first opportunity for new hockey fans to take advantage of the Mudbugs First-Timer program that offers FREE tickets to those coming to their first game. Mudbugs fans and season ticket holders are reminded to invite their friends and co-workers to visit www.mudbugshockey.com/firsttimer and fill out the online registration form to get a pair of FREE bronze level seats to a selected Mudbugs home game.
Tickets for both upcoming home games are on sale now, with individual seats available through Ticketmaster at 318-741-9700 or at the CenturyTel Center box office.
