February 15, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BROOMFIELD, CO -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs kept the drama going on Thursday night. They gave up a three goal lead only to rally from one down and defeat the Rocky Mountain Rage in OT.
Scoring was aplenty for the Mudbugs in the first period as they capitalized on three of their first four power play opportunities. Jason Williamson, Dan Wildfong and Chris Gustafson all scored on the man advantage and rookie defenseman Brian Sutherland scored his first professional goal to give the Bugs a sizable lead.
The Rage put together a rally in the second period when Matic Kralj scored two goals only 14 seconds apart to shrink the Bugs lead back to one goal. Adam Hanna was injured after the second goal and replaced by Guy St. Vincent.
The rally continued in the third as the Rage tallied two more. Bret DeCecco and Adam Loncan beat Guy St. Vincent to give the Rage its first lead of the game. Ryan Fairbarn ended the scoring drought on a picture perfect pass to tie the game and send it to overtime.
It only took 17 seconds in the OT period when Chris Abbott picked up a drop pass firing the puck past David Guerrera for the Mudbugs third OT win of the season.
