Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release

Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and Driscoll Children's Hospital today announced the "Goals for Kids" program. Spearheaded by Bees captain Jason Cirone, the program will raise money for projects such as brightening up the rooms at Driscoll as well as provide toys, books and activities for the children at the hospital.

'It's important for us as professional athletes to do what we can to help give back to the community," said Cirone. "On a recent visit to the hospital, I noticed the kids didn't have much to keep them occupied," he explained. "I'm asking for the support of our local businesses to pledge whatever dollar amount they can for each goal that I score."

Fans can also contribute on a game by game basis at Dodge Arena. Volunteers from Driscoll Children's Hospital will be at the Pena Eye Institute Information Booth at every Killer Bees home game taking donations for every goal the Bees score that night.

"Driscoll is very excited to be partnering with the Killer Bees in this project," said Cindy Salinas, Driscoll's Director of Development. "To have their support and to see them giving back to the community is a wonderful thing. We are extremely grateful to all those who participate."
