Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, Texas - The Laredo Bucks went 0-3-1 this past week. The Bucks fell 4-2 to Arizona on Friday night at the LEC. Saturday the Bucks rallied to get a point with a 3-2 overtime loss at Rio Grande Valley. On Sunday Laredo dropped a 3-1 decision to Corpus Christi at the LEC, and then fell again 6-1 on Wednesday to the Rayz. The Bucks are home on Friday night against Lubbock. It's Fiesta Night at the LEC with the first 2,000 fans getting maracas courtesy of Taco Palenque. Face off is at 7:30 p.m. The Bucks are offering season tickets starting at less than $79. GIVE BLOOD PLAY HOCKEY PART DEUX SUCCESSFUL
- Laredo fans donated more than 150 pints of blood in the second Give Blood Play Hockey Blood drive of the 2006-07 season on Wednesday. Fans who donated blood received a voucher good for two tickets to a future Bucks game on Thursday, February 22nd, against Amarillo. In addition they received a mini physical, Bucks Blood Drive t-shirt and were entered into a drawing to win great prizes from La Posada Hotel, Knight's Limo, T-Mobile, the LEC and the Laredo Bucks. UPCOMING PROMOTIONS
- It's Fiesta Night on Friday at the LEC with the first 2,000 fans getting maracas courtesy of Taco Palenque. There will be a post-game skate.
- On Thursday, February 22nd, the Bucks will host the Amarillo Gorillas. Laredo will wear special President's Day jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game. In addition it is Reliant Energy Night and the first 2,500 fans will get noise clappers.
- On Thursday, February 22nd, the Bucks will give away a pair of tickets to the sold out Mana concert. Fans in attendance will have a chance to win that pair of tickets.
- The Bucks and Applebee Learning Center will host a Hockey 101 Class on Wednesday, February 28th; at the LEC from 7-9 p.m. Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski, along with selected Bucks players, will be giving instruction on the basic rules of hockey, the equipment used and some of the strategy put in place during the games. Light food and drinks will be provided at the event. Class participants will receive a Hockey 101 t-shirt and will be eligible to win great prizes. In addition fans will learn about hockey statistics, ice preparation, get a behind the scenes tour and much more. Cost of the class is $20 for Bucks season ticket holders and $35 for non-season ticket holders. The fee for the class includes a Terraza level ticket to the Bucks game on Friday, March 2nd, against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. 2005-06: REGULAR SEASON: The Bucks went 2-0-1 against the Cotton Kings.
All-Time: The Bucks are 14-2-1 all-time against Lubbock, outscoring them 68-35. Laredo is 10-0-1 at the LEC against the Cotton Kings.

2006-07 REGULAR SEASON: This is the first meeting of the year.
2005-06: REGULAR SEASON: The Bucks were 1-1-1 against the Gorillas, going 1-0-0 at the LEC and 0-1-1 in Amarillo.
All-time: Laredo is 5-5-2 against the Gorillas, including 5-0-1 at home in the regular season. The teams have met in the Southern Conference Finals twice. The Bucks beat Amarillo 4-2 in 2004 and 4-0 in 2005.

BUSY GETTING NEW BLOOD
- Laredo acquired forward Donnie Margettie from the Odessa Jackalopes on Monday at the CHL trade deadline. The Bucks sent defenseman Ryan Palmer to the Jackalopes. The Bucks also acquired the rights to defenseman Fredrik Oduya from Tulsa for defenseman Phillippe Seguin.

- Laredo allowed four third period goals to COR on 02/14. It was the most goals allowed in a period this season by the Bucks, eclipsing the previous season high of three in a frame done five different times this year.

- Laredo allowed five power play goals to COR on 02/14. This was a season high, eclipsing the four allowed to BOS on 10/26. The franchise record is six power play goals given up to AMA on 10/22/05.

- 02/14/07 - WEDNESDAY - vs. CORPUS CHRISTI - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 6-1 to the Corpus Christi Rayz at the LEC on Wednesday night in front of 4,213 fans. Corpus Christi scored five power play goals in the win. The Bucks are winless in four straight, going 0-3-1. Despite the tough stretch Laredo remains a Southern Conference best 28-13-5 with 61 points. Eric Marvin allowed six goals on 28 shots and fell to 15-5-4. Ron Vogel turned in his second strong performance in a row against Laredo as he stopped 40 of 41 and improved to 17-9-3. FINAL SCORE Corpus Christi 6, Laredo 1.

- 02/11/07 - SUNDAY - vs. CORPUS CHRISTI -The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 3-1 to the visiting Corpus Christi Rayz in front of 4,767 fans at the LEC on Sunday night. The Bucks are winless in three straight overall, and winless in a franchise record four straight on home ice. Despite the tough stretch Laredo remains a Southern Conference best 28-12-5 with 61 points. Kevin Reiter allowed three goals on 28 shots and fell to 8-5-1. Ron Vogel stopped 31 of 32 shots and improved to 16-9-3. FINAL SCORE Corpus Christi 3, Laredo 1.

- 02/10/07 - SATURDAY - @ RIO GRANDE VALLEY - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 3-2 in sudden death overtime to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in front of 5,550 fans at the Dodge Arena on Saturday night. The Bucks battled back from a two period deficit to pick up a standings point and they are 8-1-2 in their last 11 road games. Laredo remains a Southern Conference best 28-11-5 with 61 points and they lead the Corpus Christi Rayz by six points with three games in hand in the Southeast Division. Eric Marvin stopped 24 of 27 shots and earned the Bucks a point in 61:48 of work as his record is 15-4-4. Jeff Van Nynatten stopped 29 of 31 shots in 61:48 and improved to 6-9-1. FINAL SCORE Rio Grande Valley 3, Laredo 2.

- 02/09/07 - FRIDAY - vs. ARIZONA - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 4-2 to the visiting Arizona Sundogs in front of 5,056 fans at the LEC on Friday night. Brent Kelly, the leading goal scorer in the CHL, led the way with a hat trick. Laredo remains a Southern Conference best 28-11-4 with 60 points and they lead Corpus Christi by seven points with three games in hand in the Southeast Division. Kevin Reiter started and went 29:38, allowing four goals on 19 shots and fell to 8-4-1. Eric Marvin played the last 29:30 and stopped all 11 shots he faced, but did not factor in the decision. Chris King allowed two goals on 32 shots and got the win to improve to 13-9-0. FINAL SCORE Arizona 5, Laredo 2.

2006-07 BUCKS SINGLE GAME TICKETS ON SALE
- Single game tickets for the Bucks start at $14.95. Of the 32 home games, 25 will take place on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Game times will remain the same for the 2006-07 season. Weekday games begin at 7 p.m., while Friday and Saturday night games are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday games will be at 4 p.m.
