Buffalo Adds Five More To Camp

(BUFFALO, NY) – The Buffalo Destroyers have added depth to their training camp roster signing WR/DB Jason Collins-Baker, FB/LB Eddie Diaz, OL/DL Demond Gibson, FB/LB Dwayne Woods and OL/DL Clyde Wilkins.
Collins-Baker (5-9, 180, Cincinnati) played four years (1997-2000) at the University of Cincinnati and ranks fifth all-time with 107 receptions. As a senior, Collins-Baker had 32 receptions for 306 yards and two touchdowns.
Diaz (5-11, 255, Villanova) spent the 2002 season on the practice squad for the Chicago Rush. Diaz played two seasons in af2 with the Macon Knights (2001) and the Augusta Stallions (2001). In af2, he rushed for 180 yards and 11 touchdowns. He tallied 28 tackles and 2.5 sacks on defense.
Gibson (6-4, 310, Pittsburgh) attended training camp with the Orlando Predators last season. He finished 2002 with the af2 champion Peoria Pirates racking up 21 tackles and one sack. He played the 2001 season with the Pensacola Barracudas of af2 recording seven tackles, one sack and three pass defenses.
Woods (6-0, 255, Kentucky St.) appeared in two games last season for the Detroit Fury. He spent the 2001 season with the ArenaBowl XV champion Grand Rapids Rampage.
Wilkins (6-3, 320, Kentucky St.) played two seasons for the af2Â’s Louisville Fire (2001-02). He played under Destroyers head coach Ron Selesky in 2001. In two seasons with the Fire, Wilkins recorded 29 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
The Destroyers also announced they have waived QB Mike Cawley, WR/LB Chad Plummer and OL/DL Seneca Knight. Buffalo has placed OL/DL Jose White on injured reserve.
Buffalo kicks off its fifth season in the Arena Football League Saturday, February 1, 2003 as the Destroyers host the Grand Rapids Rampage at the HSBC Arena. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Season and group tickets are on sale now. Call 881-4444!
