LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League were presented with the Laredo Chamber of Commerce Five-Star Customer Service Award Wednesday night at the La Posada Hotel and Suites. The Bucks took home honors in the first-ever Recreation and Entertaiment category, beating out the Laredo Heat and Laredo Broncos.
Annually, the Laredo Customer Service Committee of the Laredo Chamber of Commerce recognizes companies that excel in customer service.
"I am extremely proud of our Bucks staff for winning this award, it's a true honor," said Bucks Majority Owner Glenn Hart. "We want to treat our customers, as we would like to be treated when we are customers. We also want to reward the loyalty of our customers."
The Bucks have been a staple of the Laredo community since their inception in 2002 and have been honored with several past awards, including the 2002-03 CHL Franchise of the Year, among others.
The Bucks currently have approximently 2,000 Season Ticket Holders, and 40 corporate partners.
"It's a great honor to receive this award for our customer service," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "It's no secret that we take pride in treating our fans and sponsors very well. I commend every member of our organization for their fine work in helping us win this award."
Other categories at the Five-Star Awards Banquet were Community Services, Financial Services, and Hospitality Services, among others.
The Bucks will open their eighth season in the Gateway City on October 24th at the LEC, and will host the 2010 CHL All-Star Game January 13th. For ticket information call 718-BUCK (2825).
