Bucks Sign Pair Of Swedish Players

LAREDO, Texas â The 2004 CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks announced today that they have signed forward Lennon Eriksson and defenseman Calle Aslund to contracts for the upcoming 2004-05 CHL season. Lennon, 5'11" 180-pounds, has been playing overseas in his native Sweden.
"He is a very skilled player," said Bucks head coach Terry Ruskowski. "Before I sent him a contract I contacted Patrik Nilson and asked if he knew the two players from Sweden, Calle and Lennon. Patrik told me Lennon was very skilled and a goal scorer that doesn't shy away from the physical part of the game."
Aslund, 6'2" 200-pounds, was selected in the eighth round by the Buffalo Sabres, 234th overall, in the 2001 NHL entry draft.
"He is a big strong defensive defenseman," said Ruskowski. "He makes the game simple, but is effective. He is very strong in front of the net and in the corners. He has even been taking boxing lessons this summer."
Aslund, who is from Haninge, Sweden, has played for Huddinge IK of the Swedish Junior League the past several seasons, on both their Under-18 and Under-20 teams. He also represented Sweden at the Under-18 tournament held in Finland, where he registered no points in six games while picking up six PIMs.

Tickets for the October 17th game against the Mexican National Team are now on sale. The deadline for season ticket holders to reserve their seats has been extended to this Thursday at 6 p.m. Ticket prices are $5, $10, $15.
